2022 Guam Abortion Statistics To Date

We have obtained the abortion reports mandated by Guam law (10 GCA 3218) for 2022 to date.  Fourteen (14) medical abortions have been performed on Guam as reported by only one doctor, Shandhini Raidoo, MD, MPH of Hawaii. 

This information is eye-opening and should help us minister to abortion-minded women.  The mothers' average age was about 29 years, and 79% of the mothers had at least one other child, but 64% had no more than one other child.  50% of the mothers were married and 57% were Pacific islanders. No teen was reported to have had an abortion on Guam thus far in 2022.

• 100% of the abortions were medical abortions
• Average gestation age of baby: 8 weeks
• Average age of mother: 28.8 years old
• Median age of mother: 30.5 years old
• All had at least a High School education
• 79% of the mothers had other children
• 64% of the mothers had one or no other children
• 50% of the mothers were single
• 50% of the mothers were married
• 43% of the mothers were married with other children
• 36% of the mothers were single with at least one child
• 36% had more than one other child
• 21% of the mothers were single with no children
• 29% of the mothers were married with no other child or one other child
